HERE COME THE GIRLS
Afternoon Tea and Fashion
Belfast City Hall
By kind permission of Deputy Lord Mayor Alderman Christopher Stalford
Pretty ‘n’ Pink were honoured to hold ‘Here Come The Girls’ at Belfast City Hall as nominated charity of Deputy Lord Mayor Alderman Christopher Stalford, an afternoon of tea and fashion which saw City Hall go PINK for breast cancer.
The event aimed to raise money for the Pretty ‘n’ Pink Support Fund as well as promote the importance of health and breast care awareness with health professionals on hand to offer information.
Guest speaker on the day was Christine Hamill, author of recently published ‘B is for Breast Cancer’ which went in at No 12 in the Eason’s Bestsellers list the first weekend it went on sale. Written as a guide for others while Christine herself was undergoing diagnosis and treatment, the book is a frank but friendly insider’s guide to the emotional and physical challenges faced by breast cancer patients.
Our guests enjoyed a drinks reception kindly donated by Lavery’s Belfast before feasting on a scrumptious afternoon tea party of delectable sweet and savoury treats with Fluid Voodoo on hand mixing non alcoholic cocktails.
Host for the day Marcus Hunter Neill kept guests entertained with his fun, witty stories, and games.
The event included a fashion show with a twist, as all the models had been touched by breast cancer. After having hair and make-up done, and being taken through the paces by the wonderful Marcus Hunter-Neill, nine very brave and inspirational ladies took to the catwalk in outfits from LK Bennett, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, and local designs from Nor Lisa Fashion.
We were amazed to see City Hall lit up in pink that night for breast cancer awareness.
