The Big Lunch
'The Big Lunch' is an idea from The Eden Project, whereby people from across the UK come together on the same day to share lunch. It is an attempt to bring together family, friends, and neighbours to in a show of community spirit and solidarity.
'The Big Lunch' can also be used to support charitable causes, which is what happened this year when Natasha Copeland hosted a Big Lunch at Magheramourne Larne for Pretty n Pink in support of her sister who has battled the illness. Despite the wet weather, local residents came out in force to support Natasha's Big Lunch at Blue Circle Boat Club, Magheramourne, which also included a childrens Fun Day. The day was a great success with over £546 raised for Pretty n Pink.
Meanwhile, Natasha's sister Louise was also hosting her own Big Lunch Picnic, 9000 miles away in Semaphore Austrailia, to thank her friends and neighbours for their support during her battle with cancer. Interestingly, the sisters only met 11 years ago as Louise was adopted as a baby and taken to Australia, but since their first meeting have such a strong connection that Natasha and family have decided to emmigrate to be with Louise.
